    Hi Dr.Taylor. me and many of my peers are confused on how a overweight woman has a high chance of cancer due to estrogen living in fat yet, estridiol is shown to not increase risk cancer. Is there a different form of estrogen in fat that causes it?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor 4 минуты назад

      Your fat cells produce estrone. But it is not the estrone that increases your risk of breast cancer. It's fat itself that increases our risk of breast cancer. Estrone in fat cells increases your risk for only one kind of cancer: Uterine cancer. But fat itself increase uterine cancer, also. The very reason I give you the list of risk factors for each disease individually is so that you don't generalize. Each disease has specific risk factors associated with it. I hope this helps clarify your confusion.

    Dear Professor, I have been a loooong time student of yours. I watched your videos in order, I printed the outline notes (and completed them with all my answers at the time) and of course I bought, read and studied your book about menopause. I only had to stop following your RUclips channel when I was at the hospital for pulmonary embolism during covid. I remember very well video number sixteen when Mr. H showed himself. I found that very disturbing, however I wouldn't have been able to explain why back then. I am so sorry you had to face such an horrendous divorce and painful times. Hi again Dr. Taylor, I loved your video on the history of your youtube channel. You've made (and continue to make) such a postive impact on all of us! And you're such a wonderful role model! Thanks again for your reply about where the minimal doses come from. Is it reasonble to assume that the minimal dose of HRT that prevents such serious diseases should also suffice to take care of the pesky symptons of menopause? The way I think about it is this: if a minimal dose of HRT is potent enough (in a specific woman -others might need more) to prevent osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease, it should also be strong enough to solve hot flashes, vaginal dryness, etc. Is this right or is it often the case that alleviating the symptons of menopause is "harder" than preventing such diseases? have a lovely week

    After watching this video, I asked my dic for a DEXA Scan to check my body composition and bone density. I recently changed my diet completely, went all carnivore. I am 60 years old now and I had gotten very sick from a so-called "healthy" diet,which was primarily plant based. 5 decades of macrobiotic diet with only a little lean fish and lean poultry, seed oils and vegetable oils made me gain body fat, and increased vitamin and mineral deficiencies. I have added more and more autoimmune diseases over the decades. I didn't add any sugar for 40 years and didn't eat "light" products or sweeteners for 33 years. So all my body fat and diseases came from vegetables that were of organic quality. I started my all carnivore journey on Feb 25th in 2024 and already got rid of all my stomach and gut problems within only 2 weeks. My hair is growing again, even though I had a huge baldness on the top of my head, and it's growing back in color, even though I was all white before. I don't have any wrinkles anymore, my skin now is clean and soft like that of a a baby. I'm losing body fat, gaining muscles, getting fitter and healthier every single day. My doctors are amazed and me too.

    Hi Dr. During my last visit, May 8th, my doctor gave me the same pellet dose every three months to three months and a half. She had increased my testosterone in pellet form, and I was taking 200 mg of progesterone (bioidentical). I started to have a period. The only difference this time is the testosterone was increased. Because of the bleeding, she increased the progesterone to 250 mg. I bleeding stopped and spot very mildly daily. I also feel like I want to sleep during the day and have lack of motivation, like I have lost my spark and enthusiasm. This is not normal for me. I thought to stop the pellets and move on to taking a patch instead. What are your thoughts on this. Can you please provide guidance?

    I am confused about weight gain in menopause. How is it related to the changing levels of hormones in the body.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor 3 дня назад

      Weight gain is due directly to loss of estrogen. Unfortunately, most women take too little estrogen, gain weight, and then blame their weight gain on their HRT. If they took enough estrogen, they would not gain weight. So weight gain is one of 22 symptoms of estrogen deficiency that constitute your own body's way of talking to you. And if you listen to your body, you cannot go wrong.

    For those who are curious about using the oral micronized progesterone pill vaginally? I did it and has helped so much to avoid the side effects of taking it orally! If you choose this route, insert it before bed so you're laying down or it will come out. Just wanted to share this;) Talk to your Drs first but this has worked great for me so far, no mess, no side effects and still being protected from the osteoporosis, heart attack and Alzheimer's from my 0.5 estroven patch that I started a few days ago as well. I put the patch on my butt and it's itching, so there's that... ;) no other horrible side effects. (This is just my experience) But was told by my pharmacist that this was okay to do if taking it orally caused too many side effects. If I didn't have other health conditions that were already making me sick, the side effects from other meds probably wouldn't bother me so much but I'm sick enough on a daily basis as it is. The more I can avoid, the better.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor 3 дня назад

      Most women notice side effects of progesterone regardless of whether it's oral or vaginal. And that's because, in both instances, the progesterone enters your blood stream and travels systemically. The only way to ensure avoidance of side effects of progesterone is for it to satay localized to your uterus only. And the only options that do that are progestin intrauterine devices (IUDs). There are 4 of them, differing only in how long they last: 3, 4, 5, or 6 years.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor 3 дня назад

      Progesterone has nothing whatsoever to do wit prevention of heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's. Estrogen is what prevents those diseases. Progesterone only prevents uterine cancer.

    Dear Dr Taylor, I have read your book and am now also watching your videos. I am 54 and last year I had a small fibroid removed due to its unfavourable location in the uterus. I am nearing the end of my perimenopause, as my periods have started to become irregular and my main symptoms have been insomnia, period cramps and migraines before or around menstruation. I would mainly like to start with HRT for its secondary purpose:health optimization. Can I already start with HRT though I am not in post menopause yet? And if so, should it be the cyclic regimen first though difficult to tell when to start due to irregular periods? Or could I immediately start with the continous one? You have recommended the continuous regimen for women with fibroids. Is it only ffor women with many fibroids or also for those with a few fibroids? In addition, Dr Gersh said in one of her videos that in general the best regimen in post menopause is the cyclic one for healthy longevity and that most doctors prescribe the continuous one due to patients merely not wanting any bleeding and some menopause experts say that the continuous one is better long term and also more effective to protect the womb. Is it true that the cyclic one is better as its a hormone restoration at a physiological level? And should this be the new norm for post menopausal women instead of the continous regimen?

I was told it was because I was getting to much estrogen, so I quit that part of the treatment and I am doing testtogen and progesterone. Why is no one referring to menopause as a deficiency or dominance of oestrogen . Is it too wild to think this is an obfuscation of the truth ?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor 4 дня назад

      Simply put, here's what happens to your sex hormones: Your estrogen is the highest hormone (dominant, if you prefer) in the first half of every menstrual cycle you have. Your progesterone is the highest hormone (dominant, if you prefer) in the second half of every menstrual cycle you have. At peri-menopause, your progesterone disappears over a period of 2 to 10 years. At post-menopause, your estrogen disappears. You spend the rest of your life with no estrogen or progesterone.

    Thank you for your education. I Was very afraid of HRT and terribly suffering at 52 years. Because of your videos I got the courage to give it a try and I feel so much better. Misagynists are so common. I appreciate yor commitment to this project and your strength.❤

    What if your SHBG- Sex Hormone Binding Globulin is off the charts high? It seems like it no matter how much you try to replace hormones, if they are bound up, your cells can’t use them anyway. It doesn’t matter how much estrogen available in your bloodstream- it can’t be used. Additionally, taking HRT in the form of some types of pills often drives up SHBG levels as well as Thyroid Binding Globulin levels. If you already have thyroid issues, you’re double screwed!

    I am terrified of the IUD. I heard a horrible story from my friend whos sister had it migrate. I would love the localized benefits but i am so afraid.
